An early Ottoman capital Edirne was one of the major textile supplying center of the Saltanate during Istanbul being the capital. Various silk and metallic yarn embroidery pieces used to be produced here. Even, today, tradition still survives in a small scale. Silk Cahin stitch embroidery on linen. Eight pointed Turkmen star in the center while pomegranates blossoming displayed in a circle /pinwheel format. It is a continuation of classical Ottoman drawings. Saturated natural colors. Great condition, without backing.
