Circa: 1900 – 1920 Size: 70″ x 16″ – / 177 cm x 41 cm / SYRIA – Probably ALEPPO Fine metallic and silk mix embroidery calligraphic wall hanging. Traditional folk art of this area including Gaziantep where people used to hang such embroidery as paintings since imagery was forbidden in ISLAM Faith. We can see blossoming pomegranate branches, carnations and seal of the late 19th century ottoman sultan’s seals. Lace metallic crochet guard edges, it is in great condition.
